Statistical Observation for Admitted Patients

Abstract
|
|
|
Statistical analysis for the patients admitted to Dept. of Ped., Chungnam National University Hospital during the past 3 years from Jan. 1974 to Dec. 1976 was made.
The results obtained were as follows:
1) Total number of patients during 3 years period were 1291, of which 817 were male, 474 were female and male to female ratio was 1.7 : 1.
2) On age distribution, neonate and infant group of less than 1 year were 32.99% (426 cases), and preschool age group were 25.56% (330 cases).
3) Major 10 leading causes of hospitalization were pneumonia, acute respiratory infection, bacterial meningitis, prematurity, tuberculous meningitis, diphtheria, gastroenteritis, bacillary dysentery, congenital heart disease and accident, poisoning & violence in the order of frequency.
4) Total number of death were 102 with the mortality rate. was 7.90%..
5) Major 10 leading causes of death were congenital heart disease, neonatal tetanus, septicemia, pneumonia, bacillary dysentery, diphtheria, tuberculous meningitis, prematurely,. Japanese encephalitis and blood dyscrasia.
